Friends call me Salvo. I am a full professor at the School of Mathematical Sciences of Hebei Normal University (HebNU), where I have been since February 2019.
A recurring theme in my research is the interplay between arithmetic combinatorics and the structural properties of algebraic objects. I am particularly interested in the study of factorizations (broadly understood) and power semigroups. Since 2019, I have been co-organizing the Open Seminar.
Before joining HebNU, I was a visiting professor at the Center for Combinatorics, Nankai University (Tianjin, China), a Lise Meitner fellow and lecturer at the Dept. of Mathematics and Scientific Computing, University of Graz (Graz, Austria), a postdoc at the Centre de Mathématiques Laurent Schwartz, École Polytechnique (Palaiseau, France), a research associate at Texas A&M University at Qatar (Doha, Qatar), and a Marie Curie Fellow at the Laboratoire Jacques-Louis Lions, Sorbonne University (Jussieu Campus, Paris, France).
